Alright, let’s cut to the chase. We need a production mixer and boom operator for a long-term project starting next month.
For almost 3 years, Robby Moccio and I (Marshall Malone) have been a two man team. Yes, we’ve had help from others from time to time, but most of the people involved have fell by the wayside. I get it. What we do isn’t for everyone. Jacksonville doesn’t take us seriously– we don’t take ourselves seriously.
Well, times are changing. We take comedy serious and starting in July, we will be setting out to film a documentary in Jacksonville, Florida. I won’t go into detail about the documentary, but I will publicly say that it’s going to take about a year to shoot. I’ve decided to do this for several reasons: 1. I want to give the topic time to unfold/change/develop. 2. I don’t do this for a living, so I have to work this in on my free time, which is sparse because… I have kids. 3. This is my first time attempting a real documentary and I want it to be great.
With all that being said, we are looking for someone to add up on the wall of Upside Down Creative Media’s team. This is an unpaid gig, but if, for some reason, the film results in any distribution deal, there will be a contract signed before that ensures compensation fairly among the team. If you have interest in helping with this project as a Production Mixer or Boom Operator and will be available at various times throughout July 2016 – July 2017, then please contact Marshall at [email protected] or contact me on my Twitter. Please put: Production Mixer or Boom Operator in the subject and also send me links to any work you’ve done sound on in the past year or so.
